Maiyan Balwan Yojana Jharkhand – Launch Date, Eligibility & Benefits of New Scheme for Women Entrepreneurs

The Jharkhand government is set to launch a new women-focused initiative, Maiyan Balwan Yojana, on 15 November 2025, coinciding with Jharkhand’s 25th Foundation Day. This scheme will build upon the existing Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana, offering enhanced financial support to women, particularly those associated with Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

While the Maiya Samman Yojana currently provides ₹2,500 per month to around 50–57 lakh women, the upcoming Maiyan Balwan Yojana aims to offer substantially higher assistance—potentially up to ₹1 lakh—for women engaged in, or planning, small businesses and self-employment ventures. The primary objective is to help women transition from regular financial aid to creating sustainable income sources.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren will officially announce the scheme on Foundation Day. Existing Maiya Samman beneficiaries who meet the revised eligibility criteria will be automatically included. Like its predecessor, the scheme will use the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system to transfer funds directly into women’s bank accounts.

What is Maiyan Balwaan Yojana

  • The Jharkhand government is preparing a scheme called Maiyan Balwaan Yojana.
  • Its purpose would be to build on the Maiya Samman Yojana by promoting entrepreneurship and self-employment among women who are already beneficiaries of Maiya Samman.
  • It is planned to be launched on November 15, which is Jharkhand Foundation Day. But this date is tentative; the proposal still needs cabinet approval.

Why this is being proposed

  • The idea is that the existing financial aid under Maiya Samman (₹ 2,500/month) should not just serve as relief, but also help women to become economically self-reliant. So under Maiyan Balwaan Yojana, women will be linked with self-help groups (SHGs) and will get support (funds / resources) under the JOHAR scheme (a state scheme for rural growth) to start small enterprises.
  • The government wants the amount under the Maiya Samman scheme to be used more productively, to build capabilities and income-generation.

Current Status & Launch Date

  • Expected launch: November 15, 2025, aligning with Jharkhand Foundation Day.
  • Still under proposal / blueprint stage. Not yet formally approved by the cabinet at the last updates.
