 What is Indiramma Illu Scheme 

OverviewThe Indiramma Illu Scheme (officially called Telangana Indiramma Housing Scheme) is a flagship housing initiative launched by the Telangana Government to provide financial assistance to economically weaker sections (EWS), below poverty line (BPL) families, and marginalized communities for constructing or upgrading their houses.

Launched: 2014 (ongoing, updated continuously)
Objective: Ensure “Housing for All”, improve living conditions, and support rural and urban poor with safe, durable homes.


 Purpose of the Indiramma Illu Scheme 

  1. Provide financial assistance for building new houses or upgrading existing ones.
  2. Improve housing standards for rural and urban poor.
  3. Promote self-sufficiency by providing resources to complete construction quickly.
  4. Eradicate slums and unsafe housing, ensuring better living conditions.
  5. Categorize beneficiaries (L1, L2, L3) to prioritize support for those with no land or home.

 Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Indiramma Illu Scheme:

  1. Residency: Must be a permanent resident of Telangana.
  2. Income: Should belong to the economically weaker section (EWS) or below poverty line (BPL) families.
  3. Land Ownership:
    • L1: Owns land but does not have a house.
    • L2: Does not own land or a house.
    • L3: Owns a house but applies for scheme (low priority).
  4. Existing Beneficiary Check: Must not already have received assistance under the scheme.
  5. No Major Assets: Beneficiaries should not own a pucca house in urban or rural areas.

Note: Priority is given to women-headed households, SC/ST families, and differently-abled members.
