Delhi Water Bill Waiver Scheme 2025 – Apply Online, Eligibility & Benefits

The Delhi government has introduced the Delhi Water Bill Waiver Scheme for domestic consumers and government establishments. Under this scheme, a 100% waiver on late payment surcharges will be available until January 31, 2026, followed by a 70% waiver until March 31, 2026. No similar scheme is planned after this period. This initiative comes in the wake of Delhi’s outstanding water dues of ₹87,589 crore, of which ₹80,463 crore (91%) is accounted for by surcharges.

As part of the scheme, inflated and disputed bills will be recalculated using upgraded software, with the waiver applied automatically. Consumers do not need to submit any forms or visit DJB offices for corrections. Additionally, the surcharge rate has been reduced from 5% to 2% per billing cycle, providing long-term relief to thousands of households. Awareness camps will also be organized in colonies to help residents understand their revised bills.
