It has been observed that many children of construction workers live with their parents at work sites. Due to financial hardship and lack of resources, these children often cannot enroll in school or are forced to drop out after admission.

To address this issue, the government has proposed a Residential School Scheme (Awasiya Vidyalaya Yojana) for the children of registered construction workers. The aim is to provide free, quality education along with full residential facilities for children aged 6 to 14 years, covering primary, upper primary, and secondary education.
